Queensland State Titles

Rockhampton Pistol Club was the host Club for the 2010 IPSC Queensland State Titles. The main match was held on the 12 th and 13 th June with a pre-match for Range Officers on the 11 th.

The Match had 12 well prepared and thought out stages that were both challenging and enjoyable thanks to the outstanding effort from Shaun Dolgner assisted by Jason Anderson, who were the main members behind all the work that was done for the match.

The ranges and club facilities at the Rockhampton Pistol club are all well set out for this type of a major State competition and the friendly atmosphere and the welcome we received was much appreciated by all.

The pre-match for Range officers started on the Friday and they all shot 7 stages as did the competitors on the Saturday. That night the stages were all dismantled and rebuilt ready for Sunday when we all shot the remaining 5 stages plus the Chronograph.

Good weather added to the success of the match and congratulations to all who firstly presented this match and all the 83competitors who participated including a number of Queensland members attending their very first IPSC match.

This competition was a sanctioned Level III match with the Presidents gold medals presented to division and category winners;

It was great to see the very young junior Jack Straughan competing in Production, one can be assured that we will see him progress with the other dedicated juniors in Queensland who are the future of our great discipline, well done Jack.

Throughout the weekend the catering was well received and our thanks to the small team who provided the refreshments. This was one well planned and controlled major competition and a credit to PSAQueensland. We all gave our thanks to the Range Officers who worked over the weekend as it was a match well worth competing in.

I had the privilege to travel to Rockhampton from Adelaide to compete in these State Titles and also the opportunity to work as an RO together with the other Range Officers throughout the Match.

Congratulations to all involved Queensland for a great Championships competition.
